God's Promise: Keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks. -- Matthew 7:7-8

Trust His Word, His Work ~

Too many people today believe that the Bible is out of date and has no value to us in this time. These people couldn't be more wrong. God's Word in the Bible is God speaking to us, and drawing us close to Him so we can look at our world today through His eyes.

Life can be painful. And having an eating disorder is painful because it disrupts the flow of our lives. You don't have a life. During these difficult times we need reminders that God cherishes, loves, protects, and cares for His children. God is doing for us what we cannot do for ourselves. His promises are being fulfilled among us - sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. God is not ashamed of you, nor confused by your actions. Your tilted halo doesn't trouble Him. You are here right now because God loves you, and has pursued you through this website. Yes you! Go to Him -- He is your Father.

We're in our own desert wilderness right now. Jesus was in the desert wilderness for 40 day and nights, and Satan teased him. Jesus' weapon of survival was Scripture. If the Bible was enough for Jesus' wilderness, shouldn't it be enough for ours? Everything we need for desert survival is in the Book. Don't trust your emotions. Don't trust your opinions. Don't even trust your friends. In the wilderness heed only the voice of God ... and here it is ~Turn your burdens over to the Lord, and He will take care of you. He will never let the righteous person stumble. -- Psalm 55:22

God is for us. He has promised to change us. His favor will prevail!

David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said:

"The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior--
from violent men you save me. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.

"The waves of death swirled about me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me. The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called to the LORD; I called out to my God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears.
2 Sam 22:1-7 (NIV)

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit Romans 15:13 (NIV)

Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. -- Psalms 25:4-5

The Bible says that God is able to do abundantly more than you can ask or imagine; all things are possible through Him! Praise the Lord, we know this is true! We also know the Lord has a divine purpose for each one of us, a plan for our lives that only He can foresee. As you pray in the authority of the name of Jesus Christ and call on the Spirit of God to empower you and help you to pray, boldly ask the Father for a miracle of healing. Keep praying and keep asking, praying always in the direction God's Spirit leads you. Stand in confidence on the promises He gives you as you read Scriptures. Be willing to receive and accept His answer as He reveals it to you, looking not to the circumstances for confirmation, but to the understanding the Lord Himself will bring to your heart.

Serious refection on God's truth is a key to answered prayer, and the secret to living. The Lord is good. He is a fortress in the day of trouble. He knows those who seek shelter in Him -- Nahum 1:7. Hold out for all of God's promises. Do not settle by merely adjusting and coping. Hold onto the promise of abundant life and healing. Rely on Scripture. Doubt your doubts before you doubt your beliefs. Hang in there. Your time in the desert wilderness will pass. Jesus' did. "The devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him". -- Matthew 4:11.

One of the reasons God called David 'a man after my own heart' is that David loved to reflect on God's Word. He said," How I love your teachings! I think about them all day long." -- Psalm 119:97
