A
privilege we each have is to be able to go to our heavenly Father
in prayer and make our requests known to Him. We have this because
Jesus Christ gave it to us. He said "I will do whatever you ask
in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may
ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." -- John
14:13-14
Special
Prayers
[Guidelines
For Prayer] [Who
is God?]
Allow
God to be the only person on your mind while you read these prayers.
May the Lord truly bless you as you honor Him through prayer.
"This
is the confidence we have in approaching God, that if we ask anything
according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears
us, whatever we ask, we know that we have what we asked of Him."
-- I John 5:14-15.
We, too, should seek the will of our Father in all situations, and
then pray in agreement with whatever He reveals to us.
Preparing
For Recovery ~ War Prayer
Heavenly
Father, Thank You for the way You have made me. I especially thank
You for those unchangeable features that at times I have resented.
I accept them now as marks of Your ownership to remind me daily
that You made me and that I belong to You. I also welcome them
as motivation to develop Your character within me. I want to receive
the gift of Your grace and acceptance of me as demonstrated through
Jesus dying to free me from my sin and my expectations to be perfect.
There is no one ideal but You. And ideal or not, I am accepted
by You -- just as I am. I thank You for this gift, and I ask You
to give me full measure of freedom for which You created me. Amen.
Dear Lord Jesus
Christ, I petition You, the Creator of the Universe and the Great
Physician, to hear my prayer for personal healing. I believe that
You want me to regain my health and strength, and I request that
You touch me with Your grace and power, forgiving me of any sin,
removing all obstacles from my life which could prevent my healing.
I forgive any who I have held something against. Now, I take authority
by Your Name over my sickness and rebuke it. I speak to my illness
and command it's departure in the Name of Jesus Christ. Lord,
I also recommit my life to Your service and I will glorify Your
Name as a part of my testimony. Thank you for hearing my prayer.
Amen.
O Lord, thank You that You do not judge
as we judge.
You do not judge us by mere appearances.
Keep me from judging that way too, Lord.
Even when I know You, when I know the truth,
I often don't see things right.
Forgive me, Father: Give me Your eyes to see as You see.
Open the eyes of my understanding; increase my discernment.
Show me the true beauty of those around me when I an apt to miss
it.
Let who I am on the inside always be more important to me than
how I look on the outside.
May my appearance never deceive.
Keep my heart pure before You.
When You look upon me, may my heart be pleasing to You. Amen
Inspired
from Psalms 42 and 43 ~
O
Father, my heart is panting for You just as the deer pants for
the water brook. I am hurting. God, people say You have deserted
me. In my trials, they are asking where You are and why You are
allowing me to go through this. O Lord God, I want to pour out
my heart, my soul, to You. Help me in this despair to stop and
remember the joy that I have known with You in the past. O Father,
I am in despair because I am hurting. You know the pain I have
endured because of this eating disorder. You know that I feel
I have failed to be all I could be and am worthless. But, O Lord,
You are greater than all my failure. You can help me. Help me
please dear Father.
God, give me a
broken heart, if that is where Your healing can start. - James
Langteaux.
Lord, I am naked
before You, stripped of everything I do to make You love me.
When I'm still not the person I want to be, when I fail again
and again,
thank You that You never leave me.
You know that my deepest need is for You
You still pursue me and draw me near.
When everyone else leaves, You come!
It's almost too much for me to fathom.
Thank You for the gift of brokenness, the privilege of emptiness.
I am beginning to understand Your life in me,
Your beauty for my ashes. Come by Your Spirit now, and heal
the broken places within me. Amen
Lord
Jesus, When I try to control my circumstances or those around
me it always ends in chaos and frustration. I soon become overwhelmed.
Help me to let go and let God -- to have complete faith in You
for the outcomes of life. May I have peace through You, my Lord
Jesus Christ.
Lord,
I thank you that I can come to You with my feelings, my anger,
my resentments.
Show me my unforgiveness.
Show me those I am still holding hostage.
Father, help me choose to forgive them.
And forgive me, Lord, for my own sinful judgments...even my
judgment of You.
Thank you for the forgiveness You have given me.
I want a clean heart and body before you Lord.
Help me to forgive as I have been forgiven.
Hemp me to be free. Amen.
Lord God, You know what lies I have believed.
I confess them to You now and ask You to forgive me for believing
them,
including the biggest lie of all: that I don't need a savior.
Thank You that You have broken down the dividing wall and
destroyed the barrier for all of eternity
Thank You for coming to shatter the walls I've built up to
protect myself.
Show me areas in my life where I still have a brick in my
hand
Heal those areas, Lord, and keep me from walling myself off
from other and from You
Help me become all that You created me to be
Chisel away all that needs to be removed from my life.
I trust Your gentle hand. Amen
In the
deserts of the heart let the healing foundation start.
In the prison of his days, teach the free man how to praise.
--W.H.Auden
Lord,
thank You that my past is past, and that You are doing
a new thing in me
Thank You that You have given me a future... and a rich
today
My heart cries out in joy and thanks for the complete
freedom I have in You!
Help me grasp it with no hesitation, no fear, and no delay.
Help me live in wholeness and freedom all the days of
my life so that You can use me to bring healing to others.
And help me always to remember that You have brought me
out of Egypt, out of bondage to everything that has ever
held me.
I am free! You have said so! Alleluia and Amen.
Lord,
When my knowledge and understanding fail me, when the
sympathy of others does little to ease my pain, Your Love
always triumphs. You are my Keeper, the shade upon my
right hand. You preserve me from all evil. You preserve
my soul. You protect me as I go out and come in for evermore.
Father, help me to take off my mask.
Help me to slip my hand in Yours and yield the parts of
myself I've protected so carefully.
Thank You that I don't have to be anyone but who You created
me to be.
Help me discover who that is. I give you access, Holy
Spirit.
Show me my true identity -- all that I am in You.
Give me the courage to change those things that keep me
from being real.
Thank You that You accept me as I am and that You will
never leave me.
Help me every day, Lord, to become more of the authentic,
beautiful woman You created me to be.
I eagerly look forward to discovering who I really am!
Amen.
Lord,
Thank You for setting me free -- from sin, from lies,
from the expectations of others, and from bondage
to the culture that surrounds me.
You planned to use me just as You made me. It is enough
for You -- so it's enough for me.
Thank you Lord that I don't have to pretend or try
to be someone else.
Help me to remember every day who I am in Christ.
Help me to remember that I honor You by being all
that You created me to be. Amen.
Lord
Jesus, I turn my will and my life over to you.
Mold
me and do with me as you will.
I
trust you to guide my steps, and
I
enter the world with hope that I may better do your
will.
I
ask for your forgiveness and acceptance.
I
welcome your Holy Spirit's power, love, and guidance
in everything I do. Amen.
Psalm
119:33-40 says, "Teach me O Lord, to follow your decrees;
then I will keep them to the end. Give me understanding,
and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart.
Direct me in the paths of your commands, for there
I find delight. Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes from worthless
things; preserve my life according to your word. Fulfill
your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared.
Take away the disgrace I dread for your laws are good.
How I long for your laws! Preserve my life in your
righteousness.
Father
God, Thank You for working deeply and gently within
me to draw me to Yourself.
Enlarge my heart. Expand my capacity to love You...to
receive Your love.
Help me to grasp the life-changing truth that You
love me with everlasting love!
I confess to You all the thoughts, passions, and desires
of my heart that are not from You.
Forgive me for giving myself center stage and making
me the object of my attention.
I want to make You my magnificent obsession. I want
to be enthralled by nothing but You.
Thank You that I am Your beloved...that You are mine.
Amen.
Father God, Thank You for working deeply and gently
within me to draw me to Yourself.
Enlarge my heart, expand my capacity to love You...and
receive Your love.
Help me to grasp the life-changing truth that You
love me with an everlasting love!
I confess to You all the thoughts, passions, and desires
of my heart that are not from You.
Forgive me for giving myself center stage and making
'me' the center and object of my attention.
I want to make You my magnificent obsession. I want
to be enthralled by nothing but You.
Thank You that I am Your beloved...and that You are
mine. Amen.
Father, thank You for my rich inheritance!
Thank You for the unique natural traits I posses
Forgive me for not recognizing them as treasures that
You have given me alone.
Forgive me for the times I've despised my body and
put myself down.
Help me to cherish those traits, to embrace them with
joy, and to honor my family heritage with gratitude.
And mostly, Father, help me every day to remember
the rich inheritance I have in You. And thank You
for the wonderful legacy I will leave behind. Amen.
Jesus, my Savior and Lord, my heart is overwhelmed,
and my spirit cries out in gratitude for Your amazing
sacrifice.
Thank You that You withstood the most painful desert
of all, the desert of the cross, for me.
Thank You for reminding me that there is nothing
I go through that You have not experienced and don't
understand.
Thank You that even when I feel alone, I am not.
You walk with me through my painful and desolate
times.
Shape me into the woman You have designed me to
be, so that I may fulfill Your purpose and dream
for my life. Amen.
My
Savior, I used to think that seeing was believing.
Now I understand that it is by faith that I really
see the Truth. It is by faith that I can be sure
of the things I hope for and certain of that which
I do not see. Thank You for leading me in paths
that I have not known before; for making the darkness
light before me; for making the crooked things straight.
Amen.
Father,
I acknowledge that You are good and that everything
You do is good. Thank You that You don't make mistakes,
and that You can be trusted with every detail of
this world, and my life. By faith, I accept that
You have my best interests at heart, and that You
are always going to fulfill Your perfect plan in
my life, and in the lives of those I love. Please
forgive me for the times I have doubted your wisdom,
Your goodness, and Your love. I confess that I know
so little of You and Your ways, and that my view
of You is often flawed and not according to Your
truth. Please teach me to know and love and trust
You as you really are. In Jesus' name. Amen.
O
Lord, Help me to cut through the clutter and confusion
of life
so
I can see things for what they really are.
May
I comprehend that there truly are only two choices
in all things: Fear or Faith.
Lead
me to walk the paths of faith and to put all fear
behind me.
In
Your holy name I pray. Amen
Dear
Lord, I thank You for this day. I thank You for
my being able to see and to hear this morning.
I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and
an understanding God.
You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing
me, don't let me forget that.
Forgive me this day for everything I have done,
said, or thought that was not pleasing to you...
I ask now for Your forgiveness.
Please keep me safe from all danger and harm.
Help me to start this day with a new attitude and
plenty of gratitude.
Let me make the best of each and every day to clear
my mind so that I can hear from You.
Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things.
Let me not whine and whimper over things over which
I have no control.
Let me continue to see sin through God's eyes and
acknowledge it as evil.
And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with
my mouth my wrongdoing, and receive the forgiveness
of God.
And when this world closes in on me, let me remember
Jesus' example -to slip away and find a quiet place
to pray.
I know that when I can't pray, You listen to my
heart.
Continue to use me to do Your will. Continue to
bless me that I may be a blessing to others.
Keep me strong that I may help the weak. Keep me
uplifted that I may have words of encouragement
for others.
I pray for those who are lost and can't find their
way.
I pray for those who are misjudged and misunderstood.
I pray for those who don't know You intimately.
I pray for those who don't believe.
But I thank you that I believe. I believe that
God changes people and God changes things.
Prayer
For Others: He saw a great multitude, and felt
compassion for them, and healed their sick. -- Matt.
14:14.
Lord,
I pray for your healing touch to be upon others
struggling with this horrible disorder. I pray you
will comfort them, and that they will grow in character
as You walk with them throughout their healing journey;
that You will provide for their financial needs;
for their families and caregivers; that many will
renew their trust in You, and follow You even amidst
affliction. In Jesus' name, Amen.
"Heal
me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I
will be saved, for Thou art my praise".-- Jeremiah
17:14
I
have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will
heal you. - 2 Kings 20:5
"O
God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul
thirsts for you... in a dry and weary land where there
is no water". -- Psalm 63:1

Prayers ~
We
should also remember that God answers prayers offered
in Jesus' name so "that the Father may be glorified
in the Son." The result of each prayer is that God
is honored and glorified. They asked all things according
to the will of God.
These
are my prayers -- In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Lord, I love you and I need you, come into my heart,
please.
