Looks into the Word of God
And sees the Son of God

Mercy Saw Me, by Gloria Williamson
The years
had left scars, the scars had left pain,
how could He recognize me? I wasn't the same.
I knew I should pay and I knew the price, for justice and law demanded
my life.
But His tender heart heard my desperate cry, and He saw past through merciful
eyes.
Whatever
you've done, you can't go too far that His eyes of mercy can't see where
you are. He loves you too much to leave you alone.
You're flesh of His flesh and bone of His bone.
And His heart cries out for your heart today.
See yourself through His eyes and then you can say,
Beautiful, that's how mercy saw me.
For I was
broken and so lost mercy looked past all my faults.
The justice of God saw what I had done, but mercy saw me through the Son,
not what I was, but what I could be, that's how mercy saw me.
Sin had stolen my dignity and all my self-esteem,
but I was made brand new again when mercy looked at me.
God Will
Take Care of You, by N. Walla, WJ Fowler and D. Clark
You don't
say a word, but I know you're so afraid
Trying hard
to take a step of faith
You're so
confused and you're so alone
Standing face to face with the unknown
Every need you have God already knows about it
Still He longs to hear from you
I believe if you put your trust in Him that is where the road of faith
begins
Chorus:
Cause if His eye is on the sparrow when it comes to me and you
There
is no place He won't go and nothing He won't do
Like a
mother cradles a child His grace covers us somehow
So whatever
you go through God will take care of you
Change is
never easy, it's just part of living
There's so
much more that we can see
A higher place
so far above it all
Is ours when
we're faithful to His call
We don't know,
we don't have to understand
The how's,
the why's, the when's
Just give
it all to Him!
Just As I Am,
by David Phelps and Cindy Morgan
Dear Lord,
I'm on my knees again. I come to You because You understand.
I've tried so hard, but I just can't change myself. That's why I know
I need Your help.
So here I am. This is my plea. My only hope is Your love for me.
I'm reaching out so desperately. Come take my hand, take all of me. Just
as I am.
Oh Lord, You make what's broken new. Why can't I just learn to follow
you.
I want to know You and feel You in my soul. I surrender all control.
I am not afraid to follow you where you lead me. I can leave the past
behind me.
I'm forgiven and I'm free!
Vision
O Lord, I need to know that you are you! I need to have a glorious God
in view; To see your plans, so infinite and wise, I need a mighty God
before my eyes. Show me your glory! Show yourself anew; Lord, open
up my eyes of faith to you.
So often, when I face which way to go The problems seem to multiply and
grow; I do not see you standing, waiting, there, So full of power for
me, to do, to dare! Show me your glory! Show yourself anew; Lord, open
up my eyes of faith to you.
O God, I know that in my present state I could not stand the light of
you, so great; Yet even now, the smallest glimpse is bright Enough to
bathe my soul in dazzling light! Show me your glory! Show yourself
anew; Lord, open up my eyes of faith to you. -- Based
on Exodus 33:18 By Anne Ortlund
I Hear a Whisper
I feel a restless longing
Deep within my spirit, Lord
Like there’s more to this life of faith
Than I’ve known before.
And from this place of discontent
You’ve heard my constant cry
Now You’ve begun to answer, Lord
For I cannot deny.
I hear a whisper in the silence
A stirring in the wind
Saying I can know where You are moving
And I can join in
I can have purpose and passion
Know Your will and know my part
I hear a whisper and I’m feeling
Change is coming to my heart -- Lyrics from "Experiencing God",
1999
The River
God's passion is an endless river
White water running wild
In a restless rushing fury
To see souls reconciled
It reaches wide across forever
It's dangerous and deep
And while some venture to the shoreline
Some even dare to leap
And the river rages
The river runs
All through the ages
Long after I'm gone
There's a truth I'm finding I can't ignore
Whether I dive in or stand on the shore
The river keeps rushing on
All of those who ride the rapids
Have a message they must tell
There's a joy in being lost in something
That's bigger than yourself
And though the current takes you places
Where you learn to lose control
And if you think you're going under
He'll never let you go
Never let you go
Toward some quiet sea somewhere
There's nothing like the journey there. --
Lyrics from "Experiencing God", 1999
Discouragement ~ Encouragement
The Israelites had been traveling through the desert wilderness to the
land of promise. God promised He would guide them. Like many of us, they
became discouraged. If only they had trusted God's promise that He who
had led would continue to lead, if only they had believed that He who
supplied would continue to supply. Instead of being discouraged they would
have been encouraged.
Discouragement is a tool of Satan. The story goes that Satan
was going out of business and had all his tools for sale. They were very
attractively displayed. What an array ~ hatred, envy, jealousy, deceit,
fear.
One harmless-looking tool, much worn, was priced a lot higher than the
others. "What is that tool?" someone asked. Satan replied, "Discouragement".
"Why is it so expensive?" Satan answered, "Because it is
more useful to me than any of the others."
To look around is to be distressed; to look within is to be depressed;
to look up is to be blessed. Discouragement
turns to encouragement when we look away from our circumstances and focus
our eyes on the Lord.
Blessings Everywhere
By Grace E. Easley
When life starts to get you down, smile away that gloomy frown.
If you stumble now and then, get right up and start again.
You can have a sunny day even if the clouds are gray.
It all depends upon your view which way the world appears to you.
When you are tired of phony folks, check your wheels and mend your spokes,
Get your wagon rolling where Hearts are warm and people care.
Waste not hours, months and years On bitterness and foolish tears.
You’re fashioned from a master plan Designed when God created man.
There’s more to you than meets the eye, they only fail who never try.
Make your life a microscope to magnify each joy and hope.
Square your shoulders, lift your chin. Toss your troubles to the wind.
And the blessings you receive Even you will not believe
Call On Him
Sometimes in our lives, we all have pain, we all have sorrow.
But if we are wise, we know that there's always tomorrow.
Lean on God, when you're not strong and He'll be your friend.
He'll help you carry on, for it won't be long 'til He's gonna come He's
your somebody to lean on.
Please swallow your pride, if have things you need to borrow.
For some one can fill those needs that you won't let show.
You just call on Him sister when you need a hand.
We all need somebody to lean on. He has the solution that you'll understand.
We all need somebody to lean on.
Lean on God when you're not strong, and He'll be your friend.
He'll help you carry on, for it won't be long 'til He's gonna come He's
your somebody to lean on. You just call on Him brother if you need a friend.
We all need somebody to lean on. He has the solution that you'll understand.
We all need somebody to lean on.
If there is a load you have to bear that you can't carry.
He is right there, He'll carry your load if you just call on Him.
Call on Him( if you need a friend) Call on Him
If You Want Me To
by Ginny Owens
The pathway
is broken
And the signs are unclear
And I don't know the reason why You brought me here
But just because You love me the way that You do
I'm gonna walk through the valley
If You want me to
'Cause I'm
not who I was
When I took my first step
And I'm clinging to the promise You're not through with me yet
So if all of these trials bring me closer to You
Then I will go through the fire
If You want me to
It may not
be the way I would have chosen
When You lead me through a world that's not my home
But You never said it would be easy
You only said I'll never go alone
So when the
whole world turns against me
And I'm all by myself
And I can't hear You answer my cries for help
I'll remember the suffering Your love put You through
And I will go through the valley
If You want me to

MISS YOUR CHANCE
by Rose S.
When I think
of all the Chances, the Lord has given us,
To pour down Love like Summer Rains, to Soothe each other Thus,
To do Good to each other, To Heal each others Hurts.
Like oil dripping down the Beard of Aaron to his Skirts.
Are we Thankful
of the times He gives, to Shine Forth like the Sun?
Or mindful of His Presence here, in Each and Everyone?
Or do we
miss the Chance to Bless, all wrapped up in our Dreams,
While someone needs the Love we have, Unseen because it seems;
That our Lives are the only thing, important in our minds,
Instead of Blessing Other Hearts and building ties that Bind.
If only we
had Eyes to See, just how the Spirit Sees,
The Wounded Souls we pass right by, are Broken on their knees.
And carrying the Weight inside, of Every Burden Bent,
Is what you are doing so Precious, that your time can't be lent?
Or time that
you have in a day, to look to others needs,
We should be out there in the world, so often planting Seeds;
Of Restoration, Grace and Peace, we're given a Commission,
To Heal this world, for those now lost, and bring them to Submission.
To Jesus
who so Loving waits, to Heal Hearts that Bleed,
And Restore Every Soul who Hurts, For Whom He Intercedes.
We are His
Eyes, His Ears, His Heart, His Arms that do Enfold,
The reason that He put us here, to Carry someone's Load.
Just like
Simon was impressed to carry Jesus' Cross,
So we need to carry Weights, and lift them from the Lost.
WHAT MAY NOT BE KNOWN
by
Rose S.
Daily I go
to and fro, Day and night I wonder,
Night and day it never stops, Like being torn asunder.
What once
was, no longer is, Our Lives are quite unknown,
Only God sees All there is, Which we have not been shown.
Would we
know the Course we take, We might shrink back in fear,
But in His Wisdom hides Our Way, Until it does Appear.
Bending,
bruising, breaking, building, God Orchestrates This Design.
Wounding, tearing, and forsaking, He Uses To Refine.
What may
not be known by babes, We learn then As We Grow,
And Every Lesson Needed Learning is what He's Trying to Show.
When Taken
in His Loving Arms, Don't try to wriggle free.
The thing you Need the Most in Life, You have refused to see.
Like a little
child you run, As if it were a game,
But now the time to Grow is here, We can no longer blame;
Our Family,
Wives, Our childhood woes, the list goes on and on.
It's time to Take Hold of His Word, Then you can Draw Upon;
The Strength
and Wisdom He bestowed, When His Spirit here was Sent.
To Shine a Light inside our dark, To Triumph in torment.
So don't
resist what you don't know, About His Plan For You,
Just hold on tight and Trust His Love and you'll get your Breakthrough.
We can come
hard or we'll come easy, But come is what we'll do,
If we are really Born Again, His Spirit Will Subdue;
The Flesh
we hold on Dearly to, We must now set aside,
And seek His Face and His desires, because We Are His Bride.
Don't keep
your eyes on circumstance, But keep them Stayed on Him,
Who is Able to Deliver you, And Teach you how to Swim.
You won't
drown or suffocate, Our God is More Than Able.
To Hold you up, or Set you Free, He'll make your Life be Stable.
Don't wander
like the Hebrews then, And going round the mountain,
But listen when He speaks to you, He'll bring you to His Fountain.
Where you
can slake that thirst you have, He'll fill that empty place,
And Give you that Assurance of, His Love, and Peace and Grace.
To Feed
My Soul by Laura M. Thomas
Oh long bound
sin in flesh does rage,
that had
me held in Satan's grasp,
The trap
was set on every page,
I fell so
often'til Your help I asked.
Grace that
is greater than all my sin,
even of thisa
hungry heart,
Fed with
the food of perishable kind,
But now You've
granted a fresh, new start.
Above the
cry of greed I rise,
Not on my
own, You pull me up
to sorrow
and chains I bid farewell,
Your yoke
brings rest while You fill my cup.
The years
the locust hath consumed,
and the pains
of the appointed feasts,
all around
these spirits still patiently loom,
But from
their grasp I am released.
Oh joy unspeakablefreedom
true!
this self
control now speeds the light,
The darkened
days have been washed away,
by freedom,
courage, strength and might.
Enlightened
mind and calming touch,
communion
comesthe taste I know,
familiar
kind, yet new and sweet,
Hath cleansed
my heart to feed my soul.
