Fall RESTORE Classes

Healing from Abuse (Online) & Healing from Loss

"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” –Viktor Frankl

There are many things that have intensified during the pandemic.  One is grief and loss. The other one is an escalation in domestic violence and abuse. I am so honored to be leading two biblical counseling classes for women that address these issues: Healing After Loss, which will meet at Foothills Community Church, Molalla Campus, Monday nights (10-weeks); and Healing From Abuse, which will be an online ZOOM class, meeting Thursday nights (12-weeks).

Women -- this is the place where you can find the study and help you're looking for. I don’t have all the answers, but I know that when we come together as women, we find healing and can close the gaps in each other's lives. If you can't attend the class, please buy a book and go through it with another person, or make arrangements to see me for one-on-one counseling.

HEALING FROM ABUSE

Domestic violence, sexual assault, rape and childhood abuse—is real and considered an epidemic. Being in an abusive relationship—present or past— takes its toll on a woman emotionally, physically, relationally and spiritually. Your past is not your past if it’s still infecting your present. Every survivor deserves the freedom received by doing the hard job of recovery work with God and other survivors. If you are struggling, honor yourself by choosing to participate in this 12-week on-line ZOOM restoration study. You are not alone! We’re “anonymous friendly.” Since its inception, over #100 women have completed this study, Dancing in the Sonshine, permanently changing their lives and restoring their shattered selves.

Class starts September 10th. We will meet from 6:30 - 8:00 PM.

Weekly reading is required. Book cost: $15. You can purchase a copy at the Foothills Church office during business hours (Monday through Thursday), or through the shopping cart below, or Amazon (search: Dancing in the Sonshine by Kimberly Davidson). BOOKS ARE ON ORDER. WILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER 8/31.

HEALING FROM LOSS

Every person has been, or is still, affected by COVID in some way. We’ve never experienced this kind of crisis. Grief and loss have increased; we’ve lost our “normal.” Now, more than ever, women need women; women need to address and grieve their losses; women need to get their lives back on track to what God purposed. This 10-week biblical counseling class addresses and offers specific actions needed to move beyond loss and create a new normal. “There is a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance …” (Eccl. 3:4). Loss isn’t always about physical death. There is a profound connection between anxiety, post-traumatic stress, depression, anger, fear, guilt, shame and loss and grief.  This class will give you specific actions needed to move beyond loss. If you are struggling, please join this on-campus group.

Class starts September 14th. We will meet from 6:30 - 8:00 PM in the blue room at Foothills Community Church.

Weekly reading is required. Book cost: $10. You may purchase the book at the first class. You can also purchase a copy at the Foothills Church office during business hours (Monday through Thursday), or Amazon (search: No One Sent a Sympathy Card by Kimberly Davidson). BOOKS ARE ON ORDER. WILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER 8/24.
